Bunk Bed Bedding
Once you’ve purchased the bunk bed of your choice, you may wonder how to go about shopping for bunk bed bedding.
Children tend to be picky about material, as well as color and design. It is important to make sure that your
child’s sleeping area is a comfortable, relaxing area. This is because, believe it or not, a huge factor in how
well your child will develop and perform in school depends on the quality of sleep they get. Soft, comfortable bunk
bed bedding without too many wild colors and designs will ensure that your child gets quality sleep, and will also
make your child feel more at ease with his or her sleeping arrangements. Earth tones, cool tones and light pastels
are very relaxing colors. Try to stay away from bright, flashy colors, as they are distracting and often times
subconsciously frightening to children.
A lot of sites that sell bunk beds also sell the bedding, so it’s a good chance if you haven’t purchased your
bunk bed yet, that you could make it a one stop shop. Check for material descriptions. Bedding with a high cotton
count is always a good material-wise. You may prefer to do your bedding shopping in-store, as most sets come in zip
bags that allow you to feel the material before you buy it. Better yet, bring your child to the store to feel the
material for his/her self. Target and Wal Mart always have a decent selection of bedding, but it’s definitely worth
it to spend the extra money on something more comforting. Specialty shops like Linens n’ Things offer more choices
than you can imagine, at a variety of price ranges. Be careful with bedding sets though- you only need one bed
skirt!
Imagine your child’s room in your head. Is it decorated already? If not, how do you plan on decorating it? It is
very important that the bedding you purchase matches the décor in your child’s room. Have a paint sample? Bring it
with you! It is always best to match up main room colors with the bedding. If you’re not entirely sure how you want
to go about decorating your child’s room, sit down and think about where you’d like to go with it. Does your child
have specific interests that they’d like to display in their bedroom? Does your child want a themed room? Be sure
to keep in mind furniture colors as well. If you’re not sure how to decorate your child’s room, you could always
buy the bedding first and design the room around the bedding, though I wouldn’t recommend it! Be sure also to note
what size each bed is, as you’ll need to buy the sheets accordingly. Make sure you don’t mistake a bunk bed with a
bottom bunk full size and top bunk twin size as one that is twin size all around!
All in all, once you’ve purchased the bed, shopping for the bedding should be a breeze. Bunk bed bedding is not
very hard to come by, so you’ll have plenty of options. Good luck, and happy shopping!
